It’s 11:56 and I’m sitting in a desk chair in front of my open window with my feet up on the sill, eating cereal, wearing pajamas and a coat

Can’t argue with any of that, people.

A chocolate bar that I am not sure you would like

October 5, 2008

I’m not even sure if *I* like it, but for some reason I keep eating it. So I guess I must.

WHOA! IT’S 99 PERCENT!!!!

Here’s a picture of what it looks like when you open the first layer of wrapper:

If you’ve ever read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (or seen the movie), for one split second when you first see this you might get very excited and think think you’ve won something.

I can’t believe after all this time, you’ve never seen my shower curtain…

October 5, 2008

You could have the same one if you wanted, it’s just from Ikea. I got it a few years ago but they still sell it, I know this for a FACT!

Oh, but if you get it, yours won’t have a purple circle on it. I just did that to the picture because that guy’s my favorite.

The mug I always drink out of

October 5, 2008

stuff-10508-006.jpg

This is  my mug. I got this mug a couple years ago at a Starbucks in Washington DC when my friend Jenn got married. It was on sale half-prince because it’s a Valentines Day mug and I bought it after Valentines Day. When I bought the mug I remember thinking something about how now I would be one of those people who has a favorite big mug, just like someone’s high school English teacher. I felt pretty good about this.

I am sick of this mug now, though. I am sick of the pink and the brown and the swirly hearts. I think my next mug will look something like THIS:

Only the brown part won’t just be regular brown, it will be METALLIC.

Gold things in the East Village

October 5, 2008

Someone (or perhaps multiple someones) has been going around the East Village spray-painting stuff gold. First I saw a gold pole near the bus stop on 14th and 1st, then I saw a bunch of gold trash along 14th street near the Chickpea place, and then a gold pay phone in front of that place that sells fried dough and hot dogs.  Maybe someone is hosting a leprechaun themed scavenger hunt, or maybe this is part of an Art Project. Well, regardless, I think all the gold stuff looks pretty. For some reason I didn’t take a picture of any of the gold stuff, so for now here is a stand in picture containing something gold-colored. I didn’t paint it though, it just came that way  — it’s my necklace!

Vampire Freaks!

September 26, 2008

vampire-freaks.jpg

This place is only a few blocks from my house. Many other businesses have been in this same location, none lasting very long so far as I can tell. Earlier this year there was a big gold satin sign up above the door with PSYCHIC written in bronzey colored script. I never saw anyone go in, although once I saw a man standing in front of the door staring up at the sign looking very confused, as though he’d been expecting it to say something else. After a minute or so he turned and walked away.

THE RUMORS YOU’VE HEARD ARE TRUE

August 24, 2008

We have a new oven mitt over here!!!!!

new-oven-mitt.jpg

Like many of life’s monumental moments, it happened suddenly and without warning: One day my roommate just came home with it and then all of the sudden that old sad stained oven mitt that had been marginally ruining my mood whenever I saw it for two entire years could be hidden in a cupboard and now I will never have to look at it ever again. And instead I get to look at this new one and its smiley pot handle face. I am so glad!
